Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. corn meal (yellow)
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. sugar (can omit)
    1 egg (unbeaten)
    2 Tbsp. shortening, melted
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Add egg, shortening and milk all at once.
    Stir only until all ingredients are wet.
    Pour into well-greased pie tin.
    (I use a cast-iron frying pan that has been preheated in the oven.)
    Bake at 375\u00b0 to 400\u00b0 until done.
    Edges will be light brown and no sound of cooking will be heard within the cornbread.
