Ingredients

1 1/2 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 Tbsp. vanilla
4 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation

Cream together margarine, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy.
Stir in milk.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
Chill for 1 hour.
On lightly floured surface, roll chilled dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Sprinkle tops of cookies with sugar.
Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 375\u00b0 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.
