Spring Cheese Scallop - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sliced carrots
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. butter, melted
    1 c. milk
    1 c. American cheese, diced
    1 can French-fried onions
Preparation
    Cook carrots in salted water; drain.
    Stir flour into butter. Add milk gradually; cook until sauce thickens, stirring constantly. Add cheese; stir until melted.
    Place 1/3 of the carrots in 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Cover with 1/3 of the onions.
    Repeat with layers of carrots and onions, reserving 1/3 of the onions for top. Pour cheese sauce over all.
    Bake for 15 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Sprinkle with remaining onions.
    Bake for 5 minutes more.

    6 servings.
