Never Fail Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    1/4 lb. butter
    1 (12 oz.) can evaporated milk
    1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate pieces
    1 (7 oz.) jar marshmallow cream
    1 c. nuts, chopped (optional)
Preparation
    Melt butter in heavy 2-quart saucepan.
    Stir in milk and sugar.
    Bring to full boil, stirring constantly.
    Continue boiling over medium heat until mixture reaches 234\u00b0 or soft ball stage, stirring constantly, to prevent scorching.
