Red Hot Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. red hot candies
    1 c. water
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cherry jello
    1 c. cold water
    1 c. crushed pineapple, drained
    3/4 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped apples
    1/2 c. nuts (optional)
Preparation
    Cook 1 cup water and candies on stove until candies dissolve. Remove and add jello; stir until dissolved.
    Add 1 cup cold water. Stir.
    Refrigerate until starts to set.
    Add pineapple, celery, apples and nuts, if desired.
    Refrigerate until set.
