Double Divinity - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. Karo syrup
    1 c. hot water
    3 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Cook sugar, Karo and water until firm ball will form in cold water.
    Pour over egg whites and 1/2 of the syrup.
    Place remaining syrup over the stove and cook until crack stage when dropped in cold water.
    Pour this over the egg white mixture which you have beaten while syrup is cooking.
    Beat until creamy and add nuts and flavoring. When cool, drop by spoonfuls on oil paper or buttered platter, or pour onto buttered platter and cool.
    Cut into squares.
