Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter
    1 1/2 c. blackberry jam, thick
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. sugar
    4 eggs, well beaten
    1/4 c. sour milk
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    3/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream sugar and butter.
    Add eggs and jam.
    Beat thoroughly. Sift flour, measure and sift with baking soda, salt and spices. Add alternately with milk to first mixture, beat thoroughly.
    Pour into well-oiled pan.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 about 45 minutes.
    Use brown sugar icing.
