Smothered Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 to 2 lb. cubed steak
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms
    1 medium can tomato sauce
    2 tomatoes, chopped
    flour
    oil
    dash of salt to taste
    dash of pepper to taste
Preparation
    Batter steak pieces in flour.
    Brown quickly in hot oil. Place meat in slow cooker alternately with onion, pepper, mushrooms and tomatoes.
    Cover with tomato sauce.
    Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours or cook on high for 4 to 5 hours.
    Serve over rice.
