Hardtack Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    3/4 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 tsp. candy oil
    few drops of food color (as desired)
Preparation
    Mix water, sugar and corn syrup.
    Cook in saucepan until 300\u00b0 on candy thermometer.
    Remove from heat and add flavored oil and food color.
    Mix well.
    Pour on greased plate or cookie sheet.
    As soon as it's cool enough to touch, cut into pieces.
    Drop onto greased sheet to finish cooling.
    Dust with powdered sugar to prevent sticking.
