Coconut Carnival Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sifted flour
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 1/2 tsp. double acting baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. shortening
    3/4 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3 eggs
Preparation
    Sift first 4 ingredients into a mixing bowl.
    Drop in shortening.
    Add milk and vanilla; beat 300 strokes (2 minutes at low speed, scraping bowl).
    Add eggs and beat 2 minutes on low. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Frost and sprinkle with flaked coconut.
