Vegetable Medley - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. water
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. garlic powder
    3 medium carrots, sliced
    2 medium green peppers, cut up
    1 large onion, cut into wedges
    2 medium yellow squash, sliced
    2 medium zucchini, sliced
    1 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Combine the first five ingredients in a Dutch oven.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add carrots.
    Cover, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Add pepper, onion, yellow squash and zucchini.
    Cover and simmer 10 minutes.
    Stir in mushrooms; cover and simmer 5 more minutes. Drain.
    Place vegetables in lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Sprinkle with cheese.
    Broil just until cheese melts. Yields 8 servings.
