Prize Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. flour
    less than 1/8 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. milk
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. fresh sliced peaches
    1 c. sugar
Preparation
    Sift flour, salt and baking powder; mix with 1 cup sugar. Slowly stir in milk to make batter.
    Melt butter in 8 x 8 x 2-inch baking pan.
    Pour batter over melted butter; do not stir!
    Mix the peaches and 1 cup sugar thoroughly and carefully spoon them over the batter.
    Bake for 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
    Serve hot or cold with ice cream if desired.
    Serves 6.
