Buttermilk Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 level tsp. sugar
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 level tsp. salt
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 level tsp. soda
    4 level Tbsp. Crisco or lard
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients into bowl; then add lard or Crisco.
    Rub with tips of fingers until it feels like meal.
    Add buttermilk, beating with a spoon.
    Add just enough flour so the dough doesn't stick to your hands.
    Roll out 1/2 inch thick.
    Cut with small cutter; place on a lightly greased pan.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Makes 1 dozen.
