Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 medium green tomatoes
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. dry bread crumbs
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Wash tomatoes and cut into 3/4-inch slices.
    Dip slices into egg and then into bread crumbs.
    Melt butter in a large skillet. Add tomato slices.
    Cook until golden brown, turning once.
    Season to taste.
