Squash Patties - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 oz. pkg. frozen yellow squash or 2 medium squash
    1 egg, beaten
    1/4 c. flour
    1/4 c. cornmeal
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    vegetable oil
Preparation
    Cook squash and drain well.
    Mash squash.
    Combine squash and egg.
    Stir well.
    Add flour, cornmeal, sugar and onion to squash. Stir until blended.
    Drop squash mixture by heaping tablespoonfuls into hot oil.
    Cook until golden brown.
    Drain well on paper towels.
