Squash Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 c. sliced squash
    2 c. onions, cut up
    1/4 c. salt
    2 bell peppers, cut up
    2 small hot peppers, cut up
    1 small jar pimento
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. celery seed
    2 tsp. whole mustard seed
Preparation
    Mix first 6 ingredients together.
    Cover with ice water and let stand for 1 1/2 hours.
    Mix together next 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 5 minutes.
    Drain squash mixture and add to liquid.
    Let come to a boil and can.
    Yield: 4 pint jars.
