Doctored Dill Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 gal. dill pickles, drained and cut in strips
    1 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 generous pinch alum
    4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Place pickles back in jar (rinsed jar).
    Boil remaining ingredients for 15 minutes.
    Pour over pickles; seal and let stand for 3 days.
    Your pickles will be sweet and crispy.
