Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    16 to 20 medium cucumbers, sliced 1/4-inch thick
    10 small onions, sliced
    1/3 c. canning salt
    3 c. white vinegar
    2 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. turmeric
    2 tsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. ginger
    1 tsp. peppercorns
Preparation
    Combine cucumbers and onions in large bowl. Layer with salt. Cover with ice cubes and let stand 1 1/2
    hours.
    Drain and rinse.
