Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1/2 c. buttermilk
3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 lb. dates, cut into small pieces
1 lb. candy orange slices, cut into small pieces
2 c. pecans, chopped
1 (4 oz.) can coconut
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar well. Add eggs, one at a time. Mix soda with buttermilk and add to cake alternately with flour. Stir in dates, orange slices and nuts that have been dredged in a small amount of flour. Add coconut. Bake cake in either a greased and floured tube pan in a 300\u00b0 oven for 2 hours or a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan in a 250\u00b0 oven for 2 1/2 hours.
