Date Nut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. Crisco
2 1/2 c. sugar
6 large eggs
1 c. buttermilk
3 1/4 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. maple flavor
1 c. nuts, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped
Preparation

Cream the Crisco and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, beating well.
Sift dry ingredients.
Add flour and buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
Put 1/2 cup of the flour on nuts and dates; fold nuts and dates in last.
