Ingredients

1 stick margarine
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 c. raisins
1 1/2 to 2 c. flour
1 egg
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
chopped apple (optional)
Preparation

Combine margarine, sugar, water, raisins in large pot.
Bring to boil; boil for 5 minutes.
Cool to warm.
Add egg and dry ingredients.
Batter should be thick but not dry.
Pour in a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cover with powdered sugar and water glaze.
