Linda'S High-Energy Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. light brown sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1/2 lb. margarine or butter
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 large bowl popcorn
Preparation
    In large saucepan, combine sugar, syrup, butter, cream of tartar and salt.
    Stir over medium-high heat to boiling.
    Stirring constantly, boil rapidly to the hard-ball stage (260\u00b0), about 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat and stir in baking soda, quickly but thoroughly.
    Pour over large bowl of popcorn.
    Stir gently until kernels are coated.
