Turkey Lasagna - cooking recipe
Ingredients
-
vegetable cooking spray
1 1/2 lb. raw ground turkey
1 1/4 c. chopped onion
1 c. chopped green pepper
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 c. chopped fresh parsley
2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
1 (10 oz.) can tomatoes and chiles (undrained)
1 1/2 c. water
2 egg whites, lightly beaten
2 c. 1% low-fat cottage cheese
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh parsley
10 lasagna noodles, cooked without salt or fat
1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
1 c. (4 oz.) shredded part-skim Mozzarella cheese
1 lb. ground hamburger (extra lean)
1 pkg. prepared corn bread mix
1 medium sized onion
1 medium sized bell pepper
garlic, salt, pepper and any other condiment you wish to your taste
Preparation
-
Prepare the cornbread according to instructions.
Pour this into a lightly greased 9 x 13-inch pan (I used a light no stick spray).
Meanwhile, be browning your hamburger mixed with the onion and bell pepper.
Now mix in the rest of your condiments and pour this into the cornbread mix and pop the whole thing into the oven and cook according to the instructions on the prepared cornbread mix.
This is really good.
I took some to where I work and now it is called \"Shirley's Quick Casserole\".
Enjoy!
