Custard Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 eggs, slightly beaten
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
3 c. milk, scalded
1/2 tsp. vanilla
nutmeg
1/2 recipe plain pastry
Preparation

Combine eggs, salt and sugar.
Add milk and vanilla slowly. Line pie pan with pastry, pour in filling and sprinkle top with nutmeg.
Bake in hot oven at 450\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
Reduce temperature to slow (325\u00b0) and bake 30 to 40 minutes longer or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
Makes 1 (9-inch) pie.
