Ingredients

1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. buttermilk
2 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped dates
1 c. red and green candied cherries (4 oz. each)
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar.
Add egg.
Mix.
Add buttermilk.
Set aside.
Add salt, soda and baking powder to flour and sift.
Add to other mixture.
Beat.
Add nuts, dates and cherries.
Chill about 30 to 45 minutes.
