Basic Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted self-rising flour
    1/4 c. shortening
    about 3/4 c. milk
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 450\u00b0.
    Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    Add enough milk to make a soft dough. Stir with a fork only until dough leaves side of bowl.
    Turn dough out onto lightly floured board and knead just until smooth.
    Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut with cutter.
    Place biscuits on ungreased baking sheet.
    Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
