Ranchero Supper Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 Tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 lb. beef cubes
1 pkg. Lipton onion soup mix
2 (1 lb. each) cans whole tomatoes
1 c. water
2 medium potatoes, diced
2 Tbsp. chili powder
2 medium carrots, thinly sliced
1 small green pepper, chopped
1/2 c. celery, thinly sliced
Preparation

In a large skillet, melt shortening and brown meat.
Add onion soup mix, tomatoes, water and chili powder.
Cook uncovered for 30 minutes.
Add carrots, green pepper, celery and potatoes.
Cook, uncovered, for 45 minutes or until vegetables are tender and gravy is thickened.
Makes 6 to 8 servings.
