Ingredients

2 1/2 c. fine bread crumbs
1 c. suet, chopped finely
1 c. milk
1 c. raisins
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. currants
1/2 c. citron, orange and lemon peel
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. each: cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. light brown sugar
Preparation

Combine ingredients; fill tin cans (16 ounce) 2/3 full, lids on while steaming.
Steam 3 hours in steamer or large roasting pan half full of water.
Fills 4 cans.
