Mama'S Ole Tyme Banana Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar plus 1/4 c. sugar for whites
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. milk
    3 eggs, separated
    1 tsp. vanilla
    vanilla wafers
    6 bananas
Preparation
    Combine 1/2 cup sugar, flour and salt.\tStir in milk.
    Cook over low heat stirring constantly until thickened.\tCook 15 minutes more stirring occasionally.
    Beat egg yolks and gradually stir into hot mixture.
    Return to heat.
    Cook 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla.
    Line bottom of casserole with vanilla wafers.
    Top with a layer of sliced bananas.
    Continue another layer of wafers and bananas.
