Mary Jane'S Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. buttermilk
3/4 c. water
1/2 c. melted butter
1 egg

Preparation

Mix dry ingredients together.
Beat together milk, water, egg, butter and onion. Add to dry ingredients, mixing well.
Shape into balls and drop into hot deep fat until golden brown.
