Spaghetti Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. bulk Italian sausage (I always use Hillshire Farm hot and spicy)
    2 c. chopped onion
    2 cloves minced garlic or 1 tsp. dried, minced garlic
    2 (28 oz.) cans whole tomatoes
    1 (8 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, undrained
    1 tsp. oregano leaves
    2 c. chopped green pepper
    12 oz. can tomato paste
    2 tsp. basil leaves
    1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper (if desired)
Preparation
    Brown sausage, onion, green pepper and garlic. Drain.
    Add the remaining ingredients and simmer, uncovered.
    I let this cook for hours on low. The longer it cooks, the better it is.
