Apple Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. sugar
    1 egg
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 c. chopped or blended apples
    2/3 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients as for cake, except apples.
    Put apples in last.
    Bake in an 8 or 9-inch greased and floured loaf pan at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour.
