Irish Colcannon - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. (2 c.) mashed potatoes
    1 1/2 c. cooked cabbage, chopped fine
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    1/4 c. creamy milk (I use half evaporated milk and half water)
    1/2 c. finely chopped onions or leeks
Preparation
    Gently fry onion or leeks in melted butter or margarine until onions or leeks are soft.
    Add milk to mashed potatoes and stir over low heat until heated through.
    Mix potatoes, cabbage and onions or leeks together until mixture is fluffy.
    Serve with ham or bacon.
