Date Nut Muffins - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. butter or margarine
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 Tbsp. grated orange rind
1 c. pecans, chopped
1 (8 oz.) pkg. dates, chopped

Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; add eggs.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add to butter and egg mixture, alternating with buttermilk.
Add orange rind, dates and pecans.
Pour into greased and floured muffin tins.
Bake at 325\u00b0 about 20 minutes until brown.
Glaze while still hot.
