Gram'S Irish Soda Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. raisins
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    3 tsp. caraway seed (optional)
    2 c. buttermilk
    4 c. flour, sifted
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 c. butter (at room temperature)
    2 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Heat oven to 450\u00b0.
    Mix raisins with sifted flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar and caraway seed.
    Cut in butter with a pastry blender (made with 2 knives used scissors fashion) until the consistency of coarse cornmeal.
    Gradually add buttermilk and eggs and mix gently until just moistened.
    Knead lightly until smooth on a floured board and shape into a round loaf.
