2/3 c. shortening
1 1/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
2 Snickers candy bars (2.07 oz. each), chopped
1/2 c. quick cooking oats
Preparation

In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and brown sugar. Beat in egg and vanilla. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture. Stir in chopped candy bars and oats. Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls 2-inches apart onto greased or parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool. Yield: about 5 dozen.
