Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. water
    1 c. white Karo syrup
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. raw peanuts
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a 10-inch cast-iron skillet, boil water, Karo and sugar until mixture has a 5-inch thread or angel hair from spoon when lifted out of mixture.
    Add peanuts and boil until peanuts turn a golden brown and make a cracking sound.
    Remove from fire; add butter, salt and soda.
    Stir quickly and pour on buttered cookie sheet.
