Norma Todd'S Apple Butter - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 bushel Baldwin, Jonathan or other cooking apples
    6 1/2 c. sugar
    5 c. water
    16 drops oil of cinnamon
Preparation
    Core apples; do not pare.
    Cut into pieces.
    Cook and put through a food mill.
    Mix sugar and water.
    Cook in electric roaster.
    When cooked down until thick, add oil of cinnamon.
    Mix well.
    Put in scalded jars.
    Seal.
    Makes about 16 pints.
