Braised Red Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 medium red onions, thinly sliced
3 Tbsp. oil
2 large cloves garlic
1 small head red cabbage, quartered, cored and shredded
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. caraway seed
1 bay leaf
pepper
1 medium sour apple, peeled, cored and coarsely grated
1/2 c. red wine or 3 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. chicken broth
Preparation

Saute onions in oil.
Add garlic when onion is tender.
Fold cabbage into onions, along with all other ingredients.
Cover saucepan and boil 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until cabbage is just tender.
Add a little more broth or water, if liquid evaporates before cabbage is done.
Toss with parsley and serve.
