Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. warm water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 pkg. dates, cut up
1/4 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 c. flour
1/4 c. nuts
1 small bottle cherries

Preparation

Pour warm water with baking soda over dates.
Set aside.
Cream butter, sugar and eggs.
Add date mixture, flour, nuts and cherries.
Grease 9 x 13-inch pan.
Bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
