Mexican Pecan Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. white Karo syrup
    3 c. pecans
Preparation
    Dissolve sugar, soda and Karo in milk.
    Cook until light brown or, if using a candy thermometer, the soft ball stage.
    Stir constantly.
    It raises so use a tall pan.
    Remove from heat at the soft ball stage.
    Add pecans, butter and vanilla.
    Beat until it begins to get thick.
    Spoon on wax paper.
