Buttermilk Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. pecans, chopped
    1/2 stick butter
    pinch of soda
Preparation
    Cook sugar, soda and milk to fairly hard boil.
    Add butter before removing from heat.
    Beat until it begins to cream.
    Add nuts and pour into buttered Pyrex dish.
    Cut into squares when cool.
