Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, torn into bite size pieces
    1 green pepper, sliced
    2 stalks celery, sliced
    4 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1 medium red onion, sliced into rings
    2 hard-boiled eggs, peeled and sliced
    1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, thawed and drained
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. garlic powder (optional)
    1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    8 slices bacon, crisp fried and crumbled
Preparation
    Layer the lettuce, green pepper, celery, mushrooms, onion, hard-boiled eggs and peas in glass serving dish.
    Combine the mayonnaise, sugar, salt and garlic powder in bowl; mix well. Spread over peas.
    Sprinkle with cheese and bacon.
    Chill, covered, for 4 hours to overnight.
