Christmas Cranberry Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 egg, beaten
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 orange
boiling water
1 c. cut cranberries
1 c. chopped walnuts
Preparation

Sift together the dry ingredients and add the egg.
Combine the shortening and juice and grated rind of one orange and enough boiling water to total 3/4 cup of liquid.
Mix with the dry ingredients; add cranberries and nuts.
Bake for one hour at 325\u00b0. Slice the next day.
