Apple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. margarine
    2 beaten egg yolks
    4 medium apples, shredded
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. cinnamon
    1 slightly beaten egg white
Preparation
    Combine the 2 cups flour, the 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder and salt; cut in butter until crumbs are the size of peas.
    Stir in egg yolks; divide mixture in half.
    Press 1/2 over bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Combine apples, remaining sugar, flour and cinnamon and arrange over dough.
    Crumble remaining dough over apples; brush egg whites over all.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
    Cool; drizzle thin powdered sugar icing over top; cut in bars.
    Makes 4 dozen.
