Spiced Peaches - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (29 oz.) cans peach halves
    1 1/3 c. sugar
    1 c. cider vinegar
    4 cinnamon sticks
    2 tsp. whole cloves
    maraschino cherries (optional)
Preparation
    Drain peaches; reserve syrup.
    Mix with other ingredients. Bring to boil; lower temperature and simmer for 10 minutes.
    Pour hot syrup over peaches.
    Add maraschino cherries if desired (makes it pretty).
    Cool; chill in the refrigerator before serving.
    A good dish to prepare a day or so before serving.
    Good served with turkey, ham or roast.
