Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. sliced cucumbers
    1 qt. thinly sliced onions
    2 qt. cold water
    1/2 c. salt
    3 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    2 tsp. mustard seed
    2 tsp. celery seed
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers, slice without peeling and soak with onions for 2 hours in the cold water in which the salt has been dissolved. Drain water.
    Combine sugar, vinegar, mustard and celery seed. Add cucumbers and onions; cook until transparent.
    Seal in hot jars.
