Barley Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. margarine
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1 3/4 c. uncooked barley
    3/4 c. slivered almonds
    8 oz. can mushrooms
    1 1/2 c. grated Colby cheese
    1 soup spoon Vegex
    4 Tbsp. McKay's chicken seasoning
Preparation
    Saute onions and other ingredients, adding them in order. Transfer them into a deep, at least 3-quart, greased casserole dish.
    Add 4 cups of water, including mushroom juice.
    Bake for 2 hours at 350\u00b0 or 3 1/2 hours at 225\u00b0.
