Quick Cherry Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick butter or margarine
    3/4 c. flour
    1 1/4 c. sugar
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. milk
    1 can pie cherries
Preparation
    Melt butter in 9 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish.
    Sift 1 cup of sugar with dry ingredients.
    Add milk.
    Beat well.
    Pour in melted butter.
    Top with cherries and sprinkle with remaining sugar. Bake at 350\u00b0
    for 45 minutes.
