Ingredients

2/4 c. shortening
1/4 c. margarine
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. lemon extract
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
raisins (for center of cookies)
Preparation

Mix well the shortening, sugar, eggs and extract.
Blend flour, baking powder and salt.
Add to creamed mixture.
Chill at least 1 hour.
Heat oven to 400\u00b0.
Roll dough to 1/8-inch thick on floured surface.
Cut with 3-inch cookie cutter.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Place 1 or 2 raisins in center of cookie.
Bake for 6 to 8 minutes.
Makes about 4 dozen.
